Croupier School

Work or play, it's no different when you're a Croupier at Burswood. Our specialised academy provides all Croupiers with nationally accredited training and a Certificate III in Hospitality (Table Games), so you can learn the necessary skills to becoming a hotshot Croup and have fun while you're doing it.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect:

Day 1

I've met some really nice people on orientation. We all went on a tour of the Complex (this place is so big) and topped it off with free lunch at the staff canteen.

Day 2

Today the real learning begins. I've been given Blackjack as my first game to master, which is great because I've always loved playing it. It's amazing to think that soon I'll be a Blackjack specialist, not many people can say that!

Day 4

Chips, chips and more chips. No, not to eat, we've been learning to handle and count chips today and I can now officially say I'm an expert. If somebody wins on Perfect Pairs, I can cut a winning stack and have it to the player before you can say "double down".

Day 8

Getting there! I can now deal almost a complete game: doubling, splitting, insurance. I never realised there was so much to it. I'm starting to feel like I can really do this. We also got our uniforms today – now I really feel like I’m part of the team!

Day 12

What a rush! Today was my first time live-dealing to real customers in the Casino. I had my supervisor there to keep an eye on me and it was great.

Day 15

I've completed my initial course and now I'm a professional Croupier. I'm going to play games for a living, how cool is that? I can't wait to start learning all the other Table Games here too; it's going to be so much fun.
