The highly coveted industry honours were awarded to Bong Gonzales and Marc Laulita, 2011 Burswood Croupiers of the Year, and David Thompson, 2011 Burswood Inspector of the Year.
Croupiers were judged on technical ability including chip skills and knowledge of rules and procedures, as well as customer service, communication and style. Inspectors were judged on gaming knowledge, customer service, communication, coaching and development, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Gonzales and Laulita will now represent Burswood at the Australasian Croupier Championships in Vanuatu from 4-7 September 2011. The pair will be competing against croupiers from casinos across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific, testing their dealing skills in classic games of American Roulette, Blackjack and Baccarat, with cash prizes up for grabs.
Winners in individual categories were also recognised, Joey Balino; American Roulette, Mary Vu; Blackjack and Matthew Joss; Baccarat.
Burswood CEO, Barry Felstead, acknowledged the commitment of all croupiers and inspectors in the lead up to the awards night.
"The Burswood Championships are an opportunity to recognise our croupiers and inspectors for their consistent hard work throughout the year. The high standards they display in customer service and technical skill is a testament to the training and ongoing support that is in place. Congratulations to all the winners and we wish Bong and Marc the best of luck at the Australasian Championships."
