Burswood and Mirvac Fini formalise a joint venture to develop 19.1ha of land adjacent to the Complex and Burswood enters into a joint venture with the internationally renowned InterContinental Hotels Group to operate the Burswood Hotel and a new Holiday Inn Hotel. |

Burswood changes its name to Burswood Entertainment Complex. Holiday Inn Burswood and Sirocco Restaurant and Bar open. |

Refurbishment commences on new meeting room facilities, The Studios, at the Burswood Convention Centre. Burswood opens its VIP international gaming facility, The Pearl Room, in November along with a new dining venue - (A)LURE Dining Room and Bar. |

Burswood Convention Centre unveils The Astral, Australia's most intelligent venue, in May. MINQ Bar & Lounge and Riviera Room opened in August, taking over the space formerly occupied by the International Room. Construction commences on Phase Three of the Main Gaming Floor refurbishment, including a new sports bar - Carbon. PBL de-merges and Burswood is acquired by Crown Limited. |
